The Love of God the Father
In the start of this new series we are going to be taking 4 weeks to look at what our core beliefs and values are as a church that position us to live the transformed life. Our actions are produced by the beliefs we hold. Jesus said that a good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit - we want to be those who produce good fruit out of the good tree of our lives because we are rooted and grounded in the good things of God!
The Secret Weapon?
Paul wraps up his conversation about the armor of God with an encouragement...pray in the Spirt...at all times...in all occasions! Let's look at what he means, as we wrap up this series and what it means to Be Prepared!
The Shield of Faith & the Sword of the Spirit
Today we look at Ephesians 6:16-17 where Paul tells us that we need a shield and a sword… is it time to fight?
The Gospel of Peace
Today we are looking at Ephesians 6:15!
What does it mean to put the shoes on our feet that are the preparation of the gospel of peace? Is it evangelism? Is it telling others the Good News? Is it the Good News at work in us?
Righteousness & Salvation
Today we cover two pieces of armor. Not in order as they are described by Paul in Ephesians 6, but, as they are described by the prophet Isaiah hundreds of years earlier. The breastplate of Righteousness and the Helmet of Salvation. Both something we can't do on our own - be righteous, or save ourselves. Jesus has done a great work for us!
The belt of truth
As we start to look at the different pieces of armor that Paul describes in Ephesians 6, we are going to see that not only is there a physical item describe, but they lead to very spiritual and fundamental truths we are meant to hold and live out as Christians! Our walk with God is one of growth and continued revelation in the truth of who He is and what He has said and is saying!
Everyday warfare
Today we continue our journey through Ephesians 6 talking about the armor of God! We are looking at who we are in this conflict with. Paul says we aren't fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, so who are we fighting against? What is this battle all about?
Be strong in the Lord
In this new series we are taking a practical look at steps we can take to ensure we stay on track this year! The bible says that we are not in a fight against the physical things of this world, but that there is more going on that we can see. And God has not left us alone in that, he has given us armor to protect us!
Are we together?
After asking Are we all in? We need to ask are we in this together? Because we're not alone, AND we are meant to be in community together! So, what can we focus on this year to see community become healthy and whole?
Are you all in?
In this first Sunday of the New Year we are asking a very important question: Am I All In? It's one thing to want change, it's one thing to desire things in our lives, but what are we willing to do to see the change we want? Jesus said his purpose is that we would have LIFE, but he also said that the road that leads there is not easy. It takes dedication, resolve and persistence to follow after God's plans and purpose for our lives! Are you ready to be all in?
Advent: Our response
Every person who encounters the Christmas story has the opportunity to respond. Some respond with joy, some with worship, and some with hostility. How will we respond when the Prince of Peace presents himself to our lives!
Jesus is Love
In this 4th week of Advent we are looking at both the 4th and 5th topics that are used in the candles of Advent. Jesus is Love, and Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, sent to the world to save all of mankind! This is the good news of the gospel, this is the greatest news there ever has been. The angels said it, Joy to the world! the whole world!
Jesus our Joy
Jesus is our Joy! He is joyful and in Him we find our joy! It's his presence that brings us joy, a delight in who He is and what He's done. God is FOR YOU, and through Jesus we find everlasting Joy that starts here and now!
Jesus our Peace
Jesus our Peace! In this second week of Advent we are looking at what it means to have Jesus, the Prince of Peace, be our king, our ruler, the authority in our lives! Things change when we let God rule instead of trying to establish and build our own personal kingdom.
Jesus our Hope
In this first week of Advent we are focusing on Jesus our Hope. He is our hope and our hope is in Him! Proverbs says that hope deferred, or a lack of hope, can make our hearts sick. If you've ever experienced a sick heart from hopelessness, jump in, watch this service and be encouraged that Jesus is our Hope!
Thanksgiving as worship
Giving thanks to God is an act of worship! It's honoring Him for who He is and what He has done. It also builds expectation for Him to do it again! When we are thankful we remind ourselves of what He's done, honor Him for doing it, and give place for Him to do it again.
Getting back on track
After deciding that we don't want negativity coming out of our mouths, or complaining, what do we do? We have to change what we're saying. It's not just choosing NOT to say what we shouldn't say, it's choosing TO say what we should say!
Watch your tongue
It's November, and that means we're giving thanks! In this three week series on Thanksgiving we are looking at the decisions we need to make to choose to give thanks instead of complain! Today, we're washing our mouths out with soap!!!
Justice vs Judgement
If God is merciful then how is He also Fair & Just? And what about judgement? Where does that come in to play? Is there a judgement day? Will we be judged? Do we get to judge others for their actions? As we wrap up this series on Grace & Mercy, we're taking a look at how it all plays out in our lives through Judgement and Justice.
